Amy Claire Russell
Milford, CT
Amy graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a BS in Visual Art; she
worked as a jeweler making custom jewelry for a high-end jewelry store. She also
started her own jewelry business, selling her work at craft fairs, using old
wooden picture frames as displays. To spruce-up the recycled frames Amy
decorated them with my newly found paint pens. It wasn’t long until she was
scouring thrift stores in search of objects that had enough flat surfaces to
decorate - wooden bowls, jewelry boxes, clocks, framed mirrors - which, when
completed, were signed and promptly given to family and friends.
Amy continued to decorate objects on and off through the years, but moved on
from making jewelry to managing production for a small jewelry company in NYC,
eventually ending up in Milford, CT, closer to her family.
