Dawn Bisharat McDonald
Madison, CT
Born in Los Angeles, Dawn began studying the piano at age 5. She studied with
internationally acclaimed Robert Turner who was trained, along with Van Cliburn
by Josef and Rosina Lhevinne. She studied chamber music along with her brothers
Charles on violin and John on cello under the direction of internationally
renowned Alice and Elenore Schoenfeld and later continued chamber music studies
continued with internationally recognized John Walz.
The Bisharat Trio has performed for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association
League as well as the American String Teachers Association. They have made
appearances at the Doheney mansion and Hancock Auditorium at the University of
Southern California.
After graduation as an honor student from Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, Dawn
attended Bennington College in Vermont attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in
1984. There she studied art with celebrated painter Pat Adams. In her early 20’s
she spent 4 years studying at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She
currently teaches privately at her piano studio in Madison, Ct.
This endeavor with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra offers an inspired
opportunity to combine her talents as a musician and artist.
